My name is Annie Hoang. Recently, I am studying Professional Communication Program at Royal Roads University.
Since the concentration of my studies is advertising and media, I am seeking an entry-level role in Event Planning/Marketing industry as an event planner or marketing coordinator for an event planning company, where I am able to enhance my skills.
As an undergraduate of Professional Communication, I am training in public speaking, business and government writing, organization and visual skills. I am confident using Presentation software such as PowerPoint and Prezi. Moreover, I create and maintain MS Word and Excel spreadsheets during my research course. Through what I have learned at Royal Roads University, it has provided me with an exceptional background in the practical aspects of design, visual, public speaking, advertising and extensive interpersonal skills.
Working as a server at Green Leaf Bistro Restaurant has taught me how to become an effective communicator, a brilliant multi-tasker, and a fast and eager learner. I have also volunteered and gained valuable experience and knowledge of different work areas. I am a member of the Global Connections Peer Mentoring Program at Royal Roads University as a mentor. This experience has improved my communication, time management skills as well as my ability to work efficiently and effectively. Moreover, during my volunteer’s experiences in International Education Week at Royal Roads University, I gained knowledge of event planning and experience in organizing an event.
I am from Vietnam, a traditional and beautiful country. My Asian background would directly benefit my event planning job. With my diverse culture background, I’ll be bringing uniquely different ideas to the table.
I am eager to take responsibility, keep pace in a short time period and work interdependently as well as independently. My future goal is to become a creative and success event planner/marketing coordinator, further I hope I have my own entertainment company for event planning and marketing. I look forward to gaining new knowledge and transferring my university skills into a work application.
